Hope this doesn’t affect other locations in Canada?

I see “New Tertiary Institutions”  does this mean previously existing institutions can still admit? 

Nope, all tertiary institutions in the province are affected.

British Columbia says  is halting the admission of foreign students by new tertiary institutions for two years.

Selina Robinson, the post-secondary education minister, said the decision is necessary to correct faults in an international education system which she said “has not been working as well as it should”.

She said the ban implies that post-secondary institutions will not be able to apply to enrol international students for the next two years.

This is to allow the province to root out “exploitive practices” plaguing the system.

This means if you’re planning to apply to a school in the British Columbia, you would have to wait the next two years, until February 2026.
